Web research is so useful but I don't like seating on front of the PC all day. Its not me.
Which is why I am not a secretary, which is why I am not a teacher preparing exams. Which is why I am writing short posts. All my PC time was spent on research.
But its temporary. So don't fear I shall have long posts coming soon.

Mice glowing in the dark?
So what do you think about genetically modified animals? For the purpose of human
disease research? Where do we draw the line?
We are getting closer to have to deal with this question for real.
Scientist are making more discoveries that show it could help with human health. But, what about the animals? They are using monkeys, cats and mice.
Hard question.

Long weekends are great. They make me happy. Whatever I didn't do on Saturday , I can do Monday.
SO I went swimming in the morning and it was so nice. Quiet, people do no work out on holidays (:
I will attempt to pursue the Giant Journal project, yet I am nervous , I have been so focused on school i might feel i am going to be graded...But i want to play with paint and glue.
Did I mention , I am on feeding shifts for Jenna King and her 4 newborns? Well they are about 4 months now. They are adorable. and amazing to witch. Last time I changed , fed, burped and dozed 3 of them, I think i may be getting really good at it cause it was fast. Then I held Madelyn for a while , she is precious. You can see them at their blog (King blog on my blog list).
And now, I am trying to find good dates for photography classes. Not that easy.

I have been looking at photographers that are published on websites like the one below.
It is breath taking to see what software can do with photos and how creativity comes through the photo. Emotions, even subtle pop out.
Thank Heavens for art. I also wanted to wish Miri and Mike a happy beginning here in Texas. You are 2 special people. Your wit and spark make me smile. :D

Nobody read or commented on the fact that I swam with pres. ward in the gym.
I guess you did not stop to imagine the stress and pressure to swim really professionally ridiculously good. Ha!

Sick as a Dog
I don;t know but this phrase makes no sense to me (:
My dogs are doing much better when sick.
I don't know if I have allergies after years in TX or
a cold...
All I know is that I am ready for it to go away and Ed got it as well.
BOO!
As usual my summer seems to be filling up when i think it will be open and
free to do whatever.
Ed and I so want to go on a week long vacation somewhere pretty. Then I can smile really big that I have my d90 to take photos of everything.
I am so thrilled to have a tool to capture moments (:, it is precious.

A Monkey Story , read:
Emu was a monkey. She lived on a small island with about a hundred of her kind. Barely visible on the horizon were other islands with more monkeys. She never saw them, nor did they ever see her. But they were of the same species and shared similar lives and behaviors.
Of course, it was not her mother who had named her "Emu." That was the scientists' doing. They arrived one day in a large ship and anchored a short distance off the coast. A few of them had gotten into a rowboat and paddled to shore. There they placed a pile of sweet potatoes and departed. From their ship they watched, as scientists are wont to do, and observed the behavior of the monkeys.
Now Emu and her clan had never seen sweet potatoes, but they soon learned to eat them and like them. Every day the scientists paddled ashore to drop off a pile of sweet potatoes and every day the monkeys would come to the beach and eat them.
One day, a wave splashed up and took a potato that Emu wanted. She went after it and retrieved it. She found that the salt from the sea tasted good on the potato. The next day, she took a potato and deliberately washed it in the surf before eating it. Soon, she showed other monkeys how to wash the potatoes. Before long, all the monkeys on the island were washing their potatoes before eating.
The scientists noticed how the monkeys on Emu's island had changed their behavior because of Emu's example. All along, they had been feeding the monkeys on the other islands as well and observing them in the same fashion. What surprised them, however, is that, soon after all the monkeys on Emu's island started washing their potatoes, monkeys on the other islands started doing the same. Somehow, the learned behavior of one tribe had spread to the others.
Far away from the islands of the monkeys, in a little town of Ojai nestled in a valley among Californian mountains, in a little house up on a hill, Pausha sat on the couch. It was an early evening, the golden sunlight filtered through the trees surrounding the house, played and sparkled on her face. Little patches of brightness and shadow danced around the room in a frantic rhythm, in time with wind shaking the branches. Pausha sat quietly, listening, feeling, opening. Opening to who she was, really, beyond her mind, beyond the story of who she is as a human, beyond any concepts and separations. Opening to herself as herself, only as herself, a unique being, God.
A thought occurred to her suddenly: "I have changed reality. Just now I changed the world. It used to be a world where all that people could be was their minds, their egos, their stories. It used to be a world where it was impossible for a human being to simply be God. Now it changed. Now this is a world where humans beings can be simply who they are, who they really are, as God. Now it is possible - because I just did it."
"I am not a teacher", Pausha thought, "not a great Guru with millions of followers, not an international authority on anything. I do not run nor work for any organization, I am not involved in any movement. Without doing anything, without proclaiming anything, without teaching or enrolling or changing or convincing anyone of anything, I just changed the reality completely. By simply being who I am."

Today...
Details are not needed, we were just sad and taken by surprise to miss Daniel.
But as with all things we live and learn.
We did have a great time in the park playing with dogs, camera and the weather was awesome.
Today it is important to me to express thanks and love to all women I know who have a mom role.
I have had quite a few women in my life that have been a Mom to me. I guess women have it in them before and after they have kids. So thank you my best friends, my family girls, my sister, my female teachers and my Biological Mother who carried me for 9 months and gave me life.
I love you all very much.

A Swim with Pres.Ward...
Ahm...yup, I went to the gym and I saw an older guy on my pool lane, I was annoyed.
I just saw his back. Then ed yells" Hello pres. Ward!" , I look around just to see that this older man IS indeed Pres. Ward. No other lanes available but by him and his daughter.
He was impressed with my gadgets namely my underwater ipod.
I felt so self conscious swimming next to him....I think i swam so unnatural.
But they left after 10 min so I still had tons of time to do my own thing.
Ok so imagine if you go to the gym and you are swimming next to an apostle hehe.
Btw he off course had to tell me how much he loves Ed and how gr8 Ed is.
So i said "Really...I never noticed..."
Haha I'm one funny woman.
Ed is GREAT <3
xoxo

Sleepless in Dallas and Idols
I don't know why, I have weird hours this past week.
It makes me feel drunk or something.
Well as long as Adam is on the final 3 I can't really complain...
I don't care if he's gay or pink, he is a brilliant musician and I'm weary of people friggin out
"Oh but he is gay", no one asked them to date him.
It's like "Oh but he is a Mormon" no one asked you to become one.
If one likes what they do and they carry themselves with dignity I say Amen.

Never do this
Never do what I am tempted to do at times, it's not fair , right or good for you.
Don't judge another, don't feel like you know so much better what would you do if you were them.
Don't be so proud as to give advice thinking the other side is not as thoughtful as you.
Don't try to fix anybody, don't try to do it in your head.
Do send love to them , do be there for them if only in your thoughts,
Do trust them to follow a path that is theirs.
Mistakes are a part of life and growth.
Even the most cautious makes wrong choices. A wrong choice my be right from a different eye.
Don't play God but try to be Christ like, be a a place of love and warmth and your loved ones will
have ground to trust themselves and follow inspiration.
I will do the same and when I fail I will try again.

Oy...
I have a bad headache today and 4 hours of lecturing did not help the situation.
It was also kinda chilly this morning out of nowhere, and I was hoping for warmth to get some yogi
time.
It seems I am wining but believe me, I could wine more but I restrain myself (:
I got an email with AWESOME D SLR classes this summer @ CCCCD.
I can't wait to plant some flowers once semester is over.
Some of my professors are found guilty in Senility which I have a hard time with.
This year seems to be as eventful as last year so my conclusion is to expect that every year now that we have a million people in our family.
I am annoyed today for sure, probably because I have a headache.
I think I need a Red Rock vacation (:
I realize more often now, how beautiful people are, I am not speaking about a cute nose, I am talking about the light people have with them, kindness, even insecurity is cute.
I appreciate the openness and honesty in which poeple I know express themselves.
We are all so courageous. Yay to us.

Mondays and Manon

I admit Mondays are no fun for me. It didn't used to be like that. I don't know when it began to be hard.
we went on a short road trip to Shreveport LA to see our dear friend Hugo A. Vera perform in the lead role in the opera Manon. His voice is amazing and I am amazed of how his knee injury and other stresses did not affect his performance at all! It is the first time for me to see Manon , and I loved the main conflicts: vanity/true love . Manon is a very vain girl who's having a hard time giving up diamonds and dresses for her true love who is less rich , so she marries an old rich guy and leaves the guy she loves . WHAT? and how come he goes after her? She does learn in the end what is important but she dies for 24 minutes ... From Italy to exile in St. Louis(could be worst I say but according to the plot Amerika is a bad place)
They are both exiled , Manon for adultery and Him for almost shooting a guard to protect her.
I mean for real she is dying and singing 24 minutes...that's a lot for 1 scene.
I also LOVED the fact the plot criticizes gambling which they do a lot there (cards), and the show is Shreveport LA , a casino town. We actually had a reception dinner after the show in a casino. Ironic ?
Voices: well you know, if I try to sing like them I will sound like a chicken running for her life.
Needless to say they sing as if the walk in park, not fair.
If I can hear them over the orchestra then you know how powerful it is.
Orchestra: well we heard all kind of stories of people skipping measures....but we did not notice any of that. Hugo did of course. He had to make something up to cover for them. oY.
